My journey as a women’s luxury clothing designer began in 2000 after graduating from The Academy of Design in Montreal. I created a line for myself that was versatile, fun to wear, and allowed me to jump on my bike to go to a yoga class then meet a friend for dinner. As I wore my own creations, women of all ages and sizes would approach me to ask where I had purchased my outfits.

This inspired me to launch Donna Beth, a line of elegant, stylish and original clothes for all women to wear. I pride myself on creating timeless and well-made clothes, always maintaining a balance between luxury and comfort. I work with a wide range of textiles, carefully selected, hand-cut and sewn in my New Jersey design studio, that will take you from morning to night without having to change.

I find meaning in putting my best into my designs - not just quality products, but quality experiences and relationships with my amazing, dynamic clients. I LOVE what I do with all my heart! That is why I created my brand and on-line store – to offer original, exciting pieces to suit the diverse lifestyles of women everywhere!

I look forward to returning to The Marketspace at Westfield this weekend. The funky, beautiful space in Downtown Westfield is a perfect match for the vibe of my designs. Stop by to try on a few of my pieces or contact me for a custom fitting.

Mom (Mary) and I have lived in Cranford, NJ for over 50 years.  We are collectors of many things and have purchased many great pieces at local antique markets that no longer exist. And with that, way too many Longaberger baskets (it was a 90’s spending craze). While I worked in New York City enjoying a global life around shoes, fashion and hosiery, Mom enjoyed life at home. She is creative by nature, an important trait I believe was passed on to me - it’s innate.

Our homes are filled with Mom's creations, new and old, including needlework, holiday decor, quilts, curtains, pillows, ceramics from the 70's and, as it relates to our new chapter, a wonderful laundry bag. As neither of us are getting any younger, I’ve given up the daily trek to NYC and decided it time to spend time with my mom and learn her unique skill. It was finally time and we’re having a blast together.

We are very excited about our handmade drawstring bags. Born as a laundry bag but, can also be utilized in many other ways. For example, storage for toys, seasonal clothes, comforters, and flip flops. It is great for guests at beach houses, filled with their towels, soap, treats, etc. And when it is time for the guests to depart, they can strip their beds and their sheets are ready for laundry. You can even use it as a beach bag!

About 10 years ago, I gifted one to a friend who lives in NYC and she uses it every week for her laundry drops and dry cleaning drops. We can make our bags in many sizes, however I am partial to the large ones. And I admit, I stuff it like a sausage - and it holds! Many of our bags are made with vintage fabrics, pulled directly from Mom’s vault. It truly is a one of a kind, unique gift.

It is also a tried and true method to teach kids to (finally!) put away their worn clothes and is so much more decorative than a plastic basket. I hang mine on my closet door. To add to our product line, we’re also creating lovely aprons.

We are currently in countdown mode to our first ever show! We are launching our brand with Marketspace Vendor Events at their May 19th event, The Marketspace at Summit. We’ve also committed to their November 24th holiday show, Winter Village at The Red Mill Museum, so it will be a busy summer sewing. I’m excited to partner with Marketspace; their concept takes me back to my outings with Mom. I believe in the shop small/local concept AND they also live in my hometown. Lastly, we plan to share a portion of every sale to support victims of domestic violence in Union County, NJ.

Launderette will be at these upcoming events!

Launderette Laundry Bags: Cleaning Up in Cranford, NJ!

Laundry.  Lots of it!  Did you know that we do about two loads of laundry per day in our house?  Yep.  That’s life with twins plus one.  I’ve struggled for a while to find laundry baskets that are both durable and decorative.  Most are covered in ballerinas or sports balls, neither of which really match the style of my kids’ rooms.  I settled on a fabric bin for Liliana’s room and splurged on a wire frame farmhouse style hamper for Landon’s room.  Noah received Landon’s hand-me-down canvas hamper because it was better than most of the other options I’ve seen.  We got so into a more efficient laundry process, that Kevin built a 3-drawer laundry basket cabinet for our mudroom. The problem, now, is that Landon can’t lift his wire basket high enough to make it down the stairs, Liliana drags hers by flimsy handles, and they have to take turns piling Noah’s soiled baby garments into one or the other.  They thud their way down two flights of stairs and wind up throwing everything into a big pile on the floor.  Why am I telling you all of this?  Because Cranford-made Launderette laundry bags are the solution I have been waiting for!

We met by chance, or maybe the laundry gods sent her to me.  Roseann spends her free time perfecting her sewing skills mentored by business partner, affectionately, Mom.  The talented duo match fun prints with functionable fabrics, like burlap and machine washable cotton liners.  My favorite is the upcycled Mexican coffee burlap bag with attached carrying strap and subtle floral lining.

Truly, the thoughtfulness doesn’t stop there!  Each stitch contributes to an intricate leaf or cross pattern, the drawstrings are topped with handmade pom-poms and bows, the laundry bag fabrics range from custom nursery designs to pet and outdoor enthusiast themes. There really is no detail overlooked.  The best part is that these bags double as beach duffels and multipurpose totes.  They are lightweight but heavy duty – enough to support a full sized knit blanket and four luxury king sized bath towels.  It is the perfect match for these messy little laundry monsters!

If you have a chance to stop by The Marketspace at Summit next weekend, Roseann and Mom will be debuting their line of laundry bags, aprons, and other fun creations.  I adore their drive and entrepreneurial spirit.  They are proof that you always have time to carry out your dreams!

I believe that everyone has a creative side, and that we need to invest time in that side of ourselves in order to become a well-rounded individual. Creativity definitely doesn’t come easily to everyone and I frequently struggle to be creative myself! Soulmates + Scripts is my creative outlet. Soulmates + Scripts was born after my wedding in June 2017. I had spent an inordinate amount of time wedding planning, including making my own handwritten signs, and once the wedding was over, I felt a void in my life. I needed something to fill the time after my full-time job in Corporate Finance and something to bring out the creative side of me.

One of the things I enjoyed most about planning my wedding was picking and making the décor. Full disclosure – I did not DIY everything! I found that handwritten signs really added a personal touch to our wedding décor and I felt a great sense of pride seeing them at our ceremony and reception. Soulmates + Scripts offers a wide variety of handwritten wedding and home décor.

I love custom orders. It is amazing, yet sometimes incredibly difficult, to create a design and bring it to life on wood, canvas, chalkboard, etc. One of my favorite pieces I’ve created so far was a custom baby shower chalkboard sign. My client wanted to incorporate an owl into the design, and I was definitely unsure if I would be able to deliver their vision. The owl turned out better than I could have imagined, and it helped to instill a sense of confidence in me. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to help personalize someone’s special day or be a little part of their home.

Soulmates + Scripts is still a very new business and I am learning every day. My handwriting and designs have come a long way in just 8 months and it is exciting to see my creativity and confidence shining through more and more. I cannot wait to partner with Marketspace Vendor Events at their pop-up shop in Summit, NJ (my home!) on May 19th. To check out my signs for yourself, find me there in person, visit my Etsy shop, or follow me on social media. Keep in mind I can customize anything!

My father is an amazing painter, and I was lucky to grow up in a home where art and creativity are valued. I don’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t making something.  I love experimenting with color, line, shape, and texture. I’m drawn to round shapes and intricate repetitive patterns.

My artwork is fun and bright, and it always cheers me up on a dreary, stressful day. I believe my best work is created when I am feeling happy and inspired - it is important to share those positive feelings, especially with so many ugly things happening in the world today.

I find that nature or things that are calm and beautiful like dream catchers are my greatest source of inspiration.   My media ranges from pencil to marker to paint pebbles to burlap and embroidery thread.  I like to mix it up to keep things interesting for myself and my audience.  My products consist mostly of original art and prints, and I've recently added custom, high-quality tote bags to my inventory which can ship worldwide.

Rachel Mambach Art LLC was launched one year ago and has been a great success so far!  As time goes on, I continue to learn and strive to make each year better.  I've discovered that children are most interested in my art - maybe because I am an art teacher or because my creations are colorful.  I've also learned that handmade markets are the best place for me to sell my art.  Marketspace Vendor Events produces handmade markets that are perfect for me to capture my target audience.  Being a Jersey Shore local, I’m excited for my first market with Marketspace on July 21, 2018 at Porta in Asbury Park!  To see my artwork for yourself, find me there in person, visit my website, or follow me on social media.

Shelly Burd - Nailed It

Artisan: Nailed It

E-mail: naileditsburd@gmail.com

HI! My name is Shelly Burd and I am a New Jersey maker of nail and string art.  A couple of years ago my cousin was getting married and I wanted to make a gift for the happy couple, something personal and heartfelt.  I was browsing on my favorite app, Pinterest, and saw string art.  I can’t remember what the picture was of, but I was instantly intrigued.  With a little help from my father, I made my first piece of string art.  It was of two love “Burds” and their chest formed a heart.  I had an overwhelming response from my family that I should pursue this form of art. Over the last couple of years, if a friend or family member had a life event, I made string art.

My string art comes from the heart.  I can customize pieces based on the personality, style, or interests of my clients.  The pieces run the gamut of themes and celebrations from sports to weddings, man caves, nursery décor and everything in between.

My art is my hobby.  I love to make nail and string art pieces that put a smile on the face of the recipient.  I most enjoy working with clients to create a personalized piece for a special event in their lives.

The Crafts and Drafts at Lone Eagle Brewing, presented by Marketspace Vendor Events, is my first craft show.  I would be interested in displaying my art at future events as interest demands.  Come meet me in Flemington, New Jersey on March 31st - let's hammer out your ideas in string!

Donna Digiacomo - Country Friends

Hi, my name is Donna Digiacomo and my company is Country Friends.  I have a degree in textile design from Philadelphia University.  I decided after working in the industry and having two kids to work from home designing crafts.  Now, 30 years later I am still painting!  I specialize in floral designs on various mediums.

My mirrors are one of my biggest sellers!  I love to paint on large wall mirrors and especially the old windows that I find in my travels.  During the holidays, my snowman LED candles are a big seller!  Searching for and restoring found objects is one of my favorite hobbies!

I am looking forward to working with Marketspace Vendor Events for the first time on February 10th at the Pop Up Market in The Exchange at Fort Dix. I am so impressed with their enthusiasm and fabulous marketing they provide to their vendors and venues!

Lisa Richter and Lauren Coddington - Love and Lettering

Hello! We are Lauren and Lisa, two creative pals with a passion for spreading love, positivity, and good energy through our artwork!

About a year and a half ago, Lauren found herself coming across more and more naturally occurring hearts in her day to day life. She called them "random love", and began photographing them to post on social media. The response was overwhelming – this somehow inspired friends and family to notice "random love" along their paths. After so many people began reaching out to Lauren for sparking their own random love finds, she realized that she was making a difference in the way people saw the world.  Shortly thereafter, Love Along The Way was born. Lauren hopes that her photos will brighten people's spaces and continue to encourage them to find love along their way!

Lisa started leebee letters, and creates digital, hand-lettered images (including custom and personalized pieces) featuring positive quotes, phrases, and affirmations using a stylus and an iPad. After growing through a tough patch of life, she found reading positive messages, practicing mindfulness, and using affirmations played a big part in her overall happiness. She decided to start creating her own as an outlet, & then started sharing her work on social media. People responded with their own stories of coming through tough times, sharing that the positive messages gave them a boost of hope or strength, or simply put a smile on their face. Pulling inspiration from mindfulness practices, the beauty in the world around her, and anything promoting positive vibes, Lisa aims to inspire, motivate and provide hope and happiness with her work.

Together, we are Love & Lettering and the journey so far has been amazing!  Even though our two art forms are different, they complement each other, both promoting the message of looking for the good in every day, something we can always use more of in the world. We attended our first joint event back in November 2017, and it has been a whirlwind adventure ever since.  We are so looking forward to meeting you! We are incredibly excited and honored to be working with Marketspace Vendor Events at the April 2018 Crafts and Drafts at River Horse Brewing Company. We cannot wait to share our story and to hear yours! Going forward, we plan to continue deepening our collaboration and expanding so we can spread the love as far and wide as possible!
