Hi! My name is Carol and I am the owner of South Jersey handcrafted soap company, Blueberry Fields Artisan Soap. Way back in 2007, the production manager at my full-time laboratory job encouraged me to make soap and lip balms and sell them at craft shows. I decided to give it a try and I became addicted to the craft! My background in biochemistry really helps me when formulating new recipes. In 2008, Blueberry Fields was born and in May of that year I vended at my first craft show.

I really love the creativity of making cold process soap. I like to challenge myself by trying new swirl techniques and using new ingredients. Last year’s top seller was from my all-natural handmade soap line. It is scented with lemongrass and eucalyptus essential oils and made with green tea. Also popular among my customers are lavender oatmeal and patchouli.

My future goal for Blueberry Fields is to purchase more equipment to make production easier since I still work a full-time job and my time is always limited. I worked with Kim and Kevin from Marketspace Vendor Events in 2018 at Sharks and Crafts at Adventure Aquarium and I have signed up for their events in 2019. They really care about their vendors and they promote us individually, in addition to promoting the event.

Blueberry Fields Artisan Soap will be at this upcoming event!

Bush Medic Brews - Mattia & Clark Bush

Artisan:  Bush Medic Brews

What better way to fuel your business than with a love of craft beer?  Bush Medic Brews all-natural beer grain dog treats are handmade in Norristown, Pennsylvania; the no-waste solution to spent grain from home brewing.

Once Clark started home brewing, I decided to make dog treats from the spent grain for our dogs, Brownie and Scooter.  After realizing how much our dogs loved them, we gave a few to family and friends.  The pup seal of approval continued!  Our friends and family encouraged us to package and sell our handmade dog treats.  Thus, Bush Medic Brews was born.  If you’re wondering how “Medic” fits into our name, Clark is a paramedic.  Pretty cool, huh?

Our top selling dog treat is peanut butter.  We also offer peanut butter-pumpkin and peanut butter-blueberry combinations, all of which are delicious!

Our goal is to market and sell our product to local pet stores.  In the meantime, we enjoy establishing a customer base through local handmade markets in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  These events give us the opportunity to meet fellow beer and dog lovers face-to-face. We are excited to work with Marketspace Vendor Events in 2019 since many of their events are beer-focused or at breweries.  They are the perfect opportunity for us!

Honey Hound Farm: Swarming New Jersey with Bee-Made Goodness

I love food.  I especially love locally grown or farm-produced food.  It’s no wonder, then, that I am proud to support local farms from Dreyer’s Farm in my hometown, to Riamede Farm in Chester for their pick -your-own pumpkin patch, and Tuckamony Farm in New Hope to cut our own Christmas tree every year.  You can understand why I was excited to connect with Justin of Honey Hound Farm in Sparta, New Jersey, and even more so to receive a basket of his handmade bee and body products. Justin and his wife, Emma, have been beekeepers at their New Jersey bee farm since 2015.

To set the stage, imagine getting a message from someone you don’t know but their warmth and humor make you feel like instant friends.  I think that connection is important for business relationships because you’ll always remember the first interaction and will feel comfortable referring new clients.  Justin had commented on his heavily booked schedule and wish to vend at one of Marketspace’s 2018 handmade markets.  We were “passing like two ships in the night”.  I couldn’t help but laugh and reassure him that we will definitely find an event that works with his schedule this year!  Fast forward to last week when I received a shipping notification from Honey Hound (I picture Abby, the dog, putting her paw print seal of approval) and just two days later, a beautiful gift basket.

Inside was a Coconut Crème Whipped Body Butter, Lavender Oatmeal Honey Soap, Coconut Lip Balm, and of course, a jar of honey from their apiary!  Each product is packaged in quality containers – a glass jar with tin lid for the body butter and honey, complete with a wooden honey wand – and still I can smell the incredibly fresh aroma of lavender and coconut through the packaging.  The body butter is substantially thick, but not greasy.  It absorbs quickly leaving a light scent.  The lip balm is not too thin or gritty, but a perfect blend.  It also contains Evening Primrose Oil which makes me want to use this balm as a wrinkle treatment too.  I haven’t used the bar of lavender soap yet, but I am making a crockpot honey mustard quinoa chicken tonight using Honey Hound Farm honey.  I’ll be sure to include pictures!

Being fairly new to the business, it is refreshing to see how excited Justin gets about his brand.  I already know Justin and Emma are a great addition to the Marketspace Vendor Events family because we encourage a strong brand and excellent customer service among our vendors.  Justin even brings his bees to shows!  I can’t wait to meet the makers, literally.

Carrie Engerrand - Daily Scentuals

Daily Scentuals has become a lifestyle more than a business for me.  I got started making oil blends to combat my anxiety and begun experimenting with blends for other ailments.  I just want to help my customers be healthy and happy.

I love problem solving for people.  Whether that is modifying recipes to fit their needs or experimenting to find a joint pain oil to help my mother’s hands, I find that between researching new combinations or oils and creating them I have the ultimate way to satisfy my need to help.  One of my friends asked for lotions, so now I am creating a line of lotions!

I eventually want to take this business full time and create a wellness center.  That would include reiki healing, yoga, and oils.  I want to continue to solve issues that people have and really build a business that helps the local community. I vended with Marketspace Vendor Events on December 2017 at 'The Marketspace at Westfield' and am excited to attend more events. I will be at the The Exchange at Fort Dix on February 10, 2018.

Sara Youner, L.Ac. - Morning Light Acupuncture

My name is Sara Youner and I have practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine since my graduation from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in December 2015.  Chinese Medicine is my third career; I have been a librarian, practice law and now acupuncture.  However, health and healing were always my deepest interest and I decided it was time.  I lived in Springfield, New Jersey for 27 years with my husband and our 7 children.

My product is actually my medicine.  The purpose of Chinese Medicine is enable the body to heal itself.  We work at clearing the obstacles blocking the body’s energy.  These blockages cause pain, digestive issues, anxiety and insomnia. My practice specializes in neck pain, back pain, and of course stress, the quintessential 21st century ailment. That said, I also offer products that enhance your health.  I have tinctures and liniments from the esteemed Blue Poppy Herbs company out of Colorado.  I love their pain easing products with wonderful names like, Dragon’s Blood, Three Angels or Green Willow Liniment.  My My favorite product is Blissful Feet Foot Soaks made of Tibetan and Chinese herbs traditionally grown and harvested.  These soaks help everything from pain to anxiety and are both and energy enhancing.  I obtain them directly from the importer. calming

My goal for the future is to grow my practice of nourishing and enhancing health.  My plan in partnering with Marketspace Vendor Events is to introduce more people to both Chinese Medicine and “Blissful Feet Foot Soaks” and other herbal especially where they don’t plan to see them.  I’m hoping my slogan of “give health for the holidays” will entice future patients and customers.

Carly Surmonte - Car Chet Healing

Hi! I am Carly Surmonte, also known as Car Chet Healing.  Car Chet Healing is what I refer to my holistic health and reiki practice while Car Chet Healing Designs is dedicated to my crystal jewelry sales.  I have my Masters Degree in Holistic Health studies and I am passionate about energy medicine and vibrational healing.  For the past couple of months I have been doing online sales.  I am excited to start getting out and meeting people in person.

The goal of my small business is to help educate the public on chakra systems.  I sell crystal pendants because I feel that they are an excellent self-care tool that can be used anywhere.   Anyone can benefit from incorporating crystals into their lifestyle, which is why I began making them easily accessible and affordable on either a keychain or on a necklace.  My website and social media presence is dedicated to providing education and raising awareness on how crystal healing can be used as a self-care practice

Car Chet Healing Designs sells a wide variety of crystal pendants and chakra related t-shirts.  Each crystal was specially chosen with certain chakras in mind.  The best sellers are Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, and Opal.  It is pretty much 50/50 on whether people like them on the keychain or necklace.  I am excited to announce that I will be adding four new crystals as well as earrings to the mix for the upcoming vendor events!

Shopping with Car Chet Healing Designs is special for every customer.  I encourage each customer to learn about the different crystals and feel which resonate closely with them.  Customers then choose their crystal, whether they would like it on a keychain or necklace, and finally a colorful tassel to attach.  Each purchase comes with a small bag for safekeeping.  Everyone who shops here has an opportunity to be part of creating something unique that they can either keep for themselves or gift to another.

I hope to continue working with Marketspace Vendor Events in the future.  As an energy practitioner who is sensitive to vibes, I have had nothing but great feelings since working with the Marketspace Vendor Events Team!  I cannot wait for the Namaste for the Holidays event as well as The Marketspace at Westfield weekends that Marketspace Event Vendors is hosting coming up.  I will be vending on December 7 at AMP Yoga Studio as well as Sunday December 10 at the Marketspace at Westfield.  Come say hi!
